Hating on all the awesome cars like the 914, 318ti, and X-Type. And the Lotus Elan? FUCK THEM!!!!!!!!
The X-Type is too a real Jaguar! And it’s the BEST Jag EVARRRRR! A cool wagon with luxury and prestige and a hood ornament! The Cygnet is cool because it has all the prestige of Aston-Martin but with legendary Toyota quality! And that Cygnet grille is probably still available in the Scion accessories catalog (even though Scion doesn’t exist anymore) :p
They call the best Porsche, best Jag, best Lotus, and the best Aston abominations “obamanations” when they are really the best cars sold by those companies.

I’ve got to agree RE the x type. The rest is blasphemy.

Hating on the 318ti is expected by now. Except most of the haters have never driven one, so they can shove off. Now the 2 series active tourer....

Best lotus?
Get out.

I like the 318ti, was looking for one back in the day when i was in the market for my first car(ended up with a e30 318i), but that particular 318ti was a pile’o’crap.
I still harbor occasional fantasies of getting my hands on one and swapping in a supercharged M54(S54 is just too heavy for that car imho)

The real crime is here that this “article’ is a slideshow

You’re saying the only FWD Lotus ever is the best Lotus ever.
You’re wrong.

That too
but what do you expect from X-Type and 914 haters?

The X-Type probably saved Jag from the rubbish heap. It outsold every other model combined for the years it was on sale, and showed that the company could be profitable. People who hate on X-Types are probably the same ones who bitch about the demise of Saab.
That said, I think shrinking down the XJ8’s shape was a design misstep. There just isn’t enough hood to carry the lines. But it was also a period when that was a significant part of the overall design language (XK8 excluded).
Even then, they definitely should have dropped the leaper.* The British market cars look significantly better and don’t have that same “squished” XJ8 feeling.
*I'm excluding the wagon from this, because the leaper looks great on the wagon.

Did you see the Aston?

WRONG! The leaper is awesome!
Hood ornaments are awesome!

Hood ornaments are awesome, but only on cars designed to have ornaments.
When it’s not, you end up with shit like these idiots:
Or, God forbid, the kind of monster who puts a leaper on an F-Type, even though no Jag coupe has ever been fitted with anything but a screamer.

The only one I disagree with is the 914. The following indeed blow.
The 360 was a decent idea, but had poor execution. The rest were just a mix of cash grabs, bad ideas, and regulation-driven mistakes

nothing wrong with any of them :)
Tata’s fault for designing a “Jag” without a hood ornament.
Also, it just proves even more that the X-type was their peak. It all went downhill from there.

Oops missed that one. Okay, the Aston and the x type.

Admittedly, the only one on there that I would own is the Mustang II, and that’s only because what you can build it into.

The 360 had great execution, but it should have never been sold in America. It’s not a car well suited to this country.

Everyone who hates on the 318ti is my personal enemy
